COMMITTED TO NET ZERO
Japan’s Leading Event for Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage
As the global race to net-zero intensifies, Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) technologies are emerging as a crucial solution for decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors. Japan’s commitment to a sustainable, carbon-neutral future by 2050 has led to the selection of nine advanced CCUS projects in 2024, with a focus on creating scalable business models that can drive large-scale implementation. With a goal of storing 6 to 12 million metric tons of CO2 annually, Japan aims to reach project final investment decisions by 2026 and CCS commericalization by 2030—an ambitious goal that will rely heavily on strong international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and cross-sector collaboration.
The Japan CCUS Summit 2025 (#CCUSJapan25) is Japan’s leading event for carbon capture, utilization, and storage, bringing together 600+ key stakeholders and 120+ expert speakers from around the world. Scheduled for October 15-16, 2025, in Tokyo, this high-level summit will focus on scaling the commercialization of CCUS technologies through innovation, investment, and global partnerships. Delegates will delve into crucial topics such as strengthening public private synergies, developing midstream infrastructure, and fostering international collaboration across key technical expertise. With a focus on markets including Japan, Australia, and Southeast Asia, the summit will also feature insights from advanced CCUS markets in the US, UK and Middle East, shaping the future of global carbon management.
More than 80 forward thinkers across the global hydrogen industry will take the stage at IGH 2022.
